 Hudson River Snapshot Day - A Day in the Life of the Hudson River  

Hudson Basin River Watch and the Hudson River Estuary Program of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation present the fifth annual Hudson River Snapshot Day, linking school classes with environmental educators along the Hudson to create a day-in-the-life picture of the river from Troy Dam to New York Harbor, and then to tie the sections together, for a better understanding of the whole estuary. 1,100 students will gather data on the variety and number of fish caught at their location, tide information, the types of aquatic plants present, water temperature and salinity, and dissolved oxygen levels. Join these students to fit our piece of the Hudson into the larger estuarine ecosystem. Supervised by Lamont Dougherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University.

Join The River Project and Friends of Hudson River Park at the Picnic Room at Pier 40, from 10:00am to 3:00pm, for all Hudson River Snapshot Day activities. This is a free event, and open to the public.
